Water Day 17th of March

The 17th of March was World Water Day. The day focuses on the importance of universal access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene facilities around the world. The day also focuses on teaching children why it is important to not waste water, seeing as access to clean water in some countries is a privilege.

The children paired up with the reception class to use watercolours to paint beautiful pictures.

The children also used different products to make bubbles to blow.

The children used junk to make boats that would float.

The children used bottles filled with gravel or marbles and water to make music with. They explored high and low sounds as well as echoes. They listened to Camile Saint-Säens "The Carnival of Animals". Some children represented the instruments and others represented the animals that appear in the song.

In the water tank, metal pots were used to add to the music.
